The Jet Star
A truly unique place to stay.
The Jetstar is a first class plane that would have carried up to nine passengers. Built in the seventies it retains a most of the original features including a lit up bar area. It appears to have crash landed and on the back is a double bedroom in the style of a first class ships cabin. There is a loo and cold water basin on board the plane and the cockpit has an xbox with flight games. There is a well equipped shower block on site with hot showers and fridges.
The cabin consists of double bed, there is a single bed behind the cockpit but this is only 5’7″ or 170 cm which is fine for a lot of adults but not all. There is also a leather sofa on the plane which is 6’4″. It may well be suited more for a couple or two adults and two children. There is a loo on board and cold water only sink for brushing teeth etc. The cabin and the cockpit are powered by mains electricity however the fuselage has the plane’s original lighting and is powered by car batteries and should be used economically. However there is a double plug with usb ports which lamps can be plugged in. Guests are respectfully asked to remove shoes when wet. A bluetooth compatible CD and radio is mounted in the main fuselage.
The jet star currently has an outside kitchen area, ideal for self catering. Pots, pans and cutlery all provided. At this point the cooking facilities are basic and located in a covered bbq area. Bed linen is also provided but please bring your own towels.
There is a separate facilities building with hot showers and loos, (including disabled access). In this building there is a Kitchen with basics such as sink, microwave, fridges, toaster and kettle but no cooker.
There is also laundry area with washing machine/dryer/washing lines.
